Thanksgiving

My mom, dad and brother Dalton came out for Thanksgiving this year. We've had a lot of fun, and my father has kept himself busy fixing random things around the house. So far we've finished painting our kitchen, dad fixed all of our doors so they all latch now, cleaned our fireplace and figured out where the draft is coming from, and today has consisted of wiring the bedrooms for overhead lighting and blowing in a lot of insulation into the attic.

Grandma Cox brought Sammi some Christmas pajamas

Thanksgiving spread:
Turkey (roasted and smoked), mashed potatoes, carmelized yams, stuffing,
corn, cranberry fluff, and of course homemade rolls (not pictured)

It's been a tradition in Stephen's family to get their Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving. So we upheld the tradition. This is our first year to buy a Christmas Tree. We've never celebrated in the house we were living so we've never gotten one before. Dalton played tag with all of my nieces and nephews. Actually, he had a real hard time trying to catch my 11 year old nephew Thomas who knew how to dodge between the trees. It was sort of like a lion chasing a rabbit. (Dalton is 14 years old and about 5'11")

Our first tree!
Sammi's vocabulary has taken off these past few weeks. She now says "nonni" usually to me but sometimes to Stephen as well. We think it sort of means "mommy" or "adult" something like that. She's can count to 3, which is really cute. Usually she just says "two" though. (You say "one" she says "two")

Other things she's learned is how to use Dalton's iphone. She can even unlock it which requires pushing the button and then running your finger across the screen. She's watched Dalton do it enough times that she figured it out. She's a smarty and no electronic device is safe with her around.

We got our tree up today, but not decorated. I'll bet it was fun to cook with your mom. I wish mine could have been here. Tell your dad our house is next in line for wiring .... painting sounds good too.
Glad you have your own house to celebrate the holidays in.
