This year we were (and still are) in Delaware for Christmas. When Stephen's sister sadly canceled her trip to Minnesota we decided to move our departure date from MN from the 26th to the 22nd so that we'd be with all my siblings for Christmas Eve and Christmas. (Looking at the weather it ended up being a good thing. We missed the giant snowstorm on the east coast and the one hitting Minnesota at the moment.)
We managed to leave MN around 3pm with all of our presents and anything else we could think to stuff in our CR-V
and after about 18-19 hours driving with lots of stops for a pregnant woman and letting a 2 year old run wild (and one in the middle of the night that was cut short by the 2 year old waking up and being WIDE awake so no sleep was had) we managed to get to Delaware safely about 22 hours later.

Even though we had moved up our departure date, we didn’t tell my siblings we were coming. Instead they continued to think that we were coming the next week arriving on Sunday the 27th). So when we arrived at the house there was a great double take and freak out moment and then when the other half of the siblings got in from their flight around midnight another round of double takes and freak outs happened. It was a great surprise.
