New Camera! etc...

Stephen and I bought a new camera for a joint birthday, mother's day and father's day present to ourselves. And we've been having a blast playing around with it.

On Friday, Shauna hosted a Graduation Open House for Taylor. It was a lot of fun. It's still weird to think of Taylor as my nephew, he is only 4 1/2 years younger than me.

(I think Sammi's also getting Mehrsa back for all the times she would just crawl on top of her.)

The house is coming along. I still haven't figured out any paint... although I really haven't been trying very hard either. But this wallpaper is really starting to bug me, so I'm going to have to think of something soon. (And the rest of the house is just *yawn* boring.) But the front yard is looking better. Last weekend we rented a bobcat and ripped up our front lawn to get it graded correctly. We're trying to correct the water problem in the basement. So now we have a giant mudpit in our front yard (yay). Luckily Samantha doesn't walk yet so she's not about to go and play in it. Speaking of Samantha, she got her first tooth today! Her bottom right tooth finally broke through. Her top right is pretty close too, so soon she'll be a regular chewing machine.

I've been trying really hard to get in/stay in shape. Last Monday I went to Kickboxing at Lifetime Fitness, and I had such a fun time destroying my muscles (I had to brace myself to sit and stand for the next 3 days), I went back today. But today, I made Stephen go with me since he was home on his first flex day. (Flex = works 9 hours a day for two weeks and gets every other Monday off).

I've also started strumming the guitar. So the tip of my middle finger really hurts... we'll see how long this lasts. I've always liked the guitar. Maybe it'll last until my nails grow back... (yes, I cut them and now my fingers look all short and fat).

In other news, I think my sister is getting married in August. Which is just CRAZY! She's not "engaged" yet, she's all but been proposed to. We had been planning on having a vacation in Delaware in August since there is one week that all my siblings (Destin, Maraina and Caitlyn) are all out of college. (Maraina in college... that's weird too). But this week may turn into "Caitlyn wedding week" I just ask that I can take my little family down to the beach for a couple days. She can't have ALL of my vacation. It was vacation before it was wedding :-P (I love you Caitlyn.)
