Christmas was a success! Samantha didn't wake up until 8:30 (a lot of late nights that week), but I enjoyed the sleep. In my family we grew up with Santa hiding our stockings. So we went down as a family and looked for stockings together. This tradition is continuing with our family, although the looking for a stocking didn't actually register into Samantha head. The stockings are always hidden in a room where the tree isn't, and so in our little house it was the kitchen. Sammi's was under her high chair. So Stephen and I took her into the kitchen and she stood there for a second and then RAN into the family room and came back with her big Santa present: a doll with a stroller. And she LOVES it. She took a little more interest in the stocking when her beaded necklaces came out, but ultimately she just loves her dolly. She calls it "momMA!" (She calls me "momMY"). It's quite cute, we ask her where her baby is and she runs around the house calling out "momMA?" until she finds it. She also carries it around patting its back.
Stephen's favorite gift were his racquetball racquets I got for him. And I think mine might be the cutting board Stephen made out of logs cut from our black walnut tree out front. My parents also got a real cool picture that we have hung in our living room. It's "Low Tech" by James Christensen. Quite a funny picture and fits Stephen and me very nicely.

note the beads on the stroller. She loves to drape them on everything
