On September 11th Samantha turned 2 years old! To celebrate (or perhaps commiserate as she has turned 2 with full force) we had a small birthday party. We invited a few of her cousins that she plays with most frequently, and a friend from church that we hang out with. They played outside while we finished making some homemade pizza, then we opened presents and had cake. I was attempting for it to be rather low-key, and it was ultimately a success despite getting started a bit later than I had hoped so grandma and grandpa Smith had to leave.
Samantha pushing Preston on her scooter
Playing Peek-A-Boo with one of the adults on the steps
Wrestling with Preston (Samantha LOVES Preston, and he’s really good with her too)
Opening presents with just a bit of help from older cousins. (You can also see the start of my belly I’m 15 1/2 weeks here)
The turtle cake made out of different shaped cupcakes. (My hand hurt from icing it by the end. I have a new appreciation for some of my cakes when I was little)
Samantha blowing out the candle… while we were singing “Happy Birthday”. As soon as she saw them lit she blew it out, so we relit it a few times. She got both out in one breath after the song though!
Chowing down
mmm… I like icing
Playing in her princess castle/tent from the Smiths. She’s trying to get her friend Jade to come in.
Thank you everyone for coming and making it a fun evening!
