Life with two

Clara is now two weeks old (yesterday) and so we are now at the date that her older sister would have been born.  And I must say I’m very glad to have a two week old rather than be in the hospital.  To celebrate her two week birthday, she got to sleep in her crib last night in the room she’s sharing with Samantha rather than in my room.  I’m a big fan of having that wall of separation.

Clara is quite the little sweet heart during the day.  She still sleeps a lot, like all newborns, but when she’s awake she is very alert and hardly fusses.  She had one evening of being fussy from a tummy ache but mostly she only cries if she feels you’ve left her alone too long or is hungry.  But she is usually completely content to just be here.  She smiles a ton, and even giggles in her sleep.

Samantha continues to be a doting big sister.  Every time Clara makes a sound she runs to tell me that “Baby Clara wake up!” and quite often goes to find her pacifier to shove place in Clara’s mouth.  She also loves to hold Clara and tells me it is HER turn to change Clara’s poopy diaper.  We’re (more my mom) working on having only Clara’s diaper to change.  Samantha is very motivated by candy, but needs to be told to go on the toilet.  We’ll see how long I can continue training, it’s a bit easier with my mom here.

On Sunday we did a photoshoot and Stephen had a fun time editing a couple.  So here’s our darling baby girl.

What darling pictures. Are those all of the same baby. Pink hues to the sepia make her look so different. She is beautiful.
