Hard drive update and the Zoo

It turns out that I’m amazing.  Apparently, at some point in time (which I do not remember) all pictures got updated to the external hard drive all the way through the middle of February.  So rather than 6+ months of missing pictures, we are only missing from February 10th – March 22nd.  And while I am very sad to have those pictures gone (all the ones posted in the previous post), I’m glad that at least Clara’s birthday was already recorded (albeit w/o full-resolution pictures), and a couple of my favorite pictures were already uploaded elsewhere.  We have since purchased an online back-up service and won’t have to deal with such heartbreak again.

In continued documentation of the lives of the Smiths…. we went to the zoo on the 28th.  A mother’s group I’m in coordinated it, and I invited another MBA widow along.  Unfortunately my camera died about 6 pictures in, and of those 6 really only the one of Clara sort of turned out.  This was the first time that Clara was interested in everything, and Sammi is getting more and more interested in animals (what they’re called, what sound they  make, what the eat, etc.) and so the zoo is getting much more fun.  We started with the Tropics Trail since it’s warm in there,

after a lunch break for the kiddos, we zoomed through the Minnesota trail.  My friend left with her kids, as it was nap time, but I let Sammi look at the dolphins.  They were in the back pools, however, and couldn’t be seen really.  Nothing like last time.  We were gone by 1 and both girls took LONG naps that day.
