Home again home again, jiggity jig

The trip was great. I'll have to post pictures when we get our other computer up and running again (for lack of any other terminology, it's starting to piss me off).

Anyways, it was fun to see everyone and I think Samantha was loved by all. She proved her hugeness by being in the same size as her cousin that's like 15 months older. The "Family Reunion" was fun as well (quotations are for the fact that I think it's silly to call it a family reunion since it's just an immediate family getting together and there is 1 grandchild). I managed to get myself royally burnt. But luckily my skin doesn't fester too much and it's already mostly faded.

Now that we're home without any huge trips in the near future real life is resettling in. I am really excited that spring is here. (I left with there being barely buds on my trees and I came back to a lawn that needed mowing and leaves and flowers!) I'm also excited for summer and the lake. Samantha absolutely loves water, so hopefully we'll have some good times. Stephen and I are also planning on doing a couple bike trips this summer (a 100 miler and then across Minnesota), so much biking is in order during the course of the summer.

I also came home with a huge list of projects that need to be done around the house. First on the list are the front walk and the garage roof for no other purpose except our insurance company demands it or they are dropping our coverage. This is the second time this has happened, and our second insurance company since buying our house a year ago. (Btw, one year since we moved into our house Hooray!) I've never heard of insurance companies going around and making such demands (and at this regularity). Are we just high risk or something? And why are they consistently concerned about our garage? Last time it was the "facade" and "it's messy", now it's the roof (which doesn't leak). Sorry, off on a rant.

A couple more projects are the garden beds are totally overrun and need to be de-grassed, and a couple other plants need to be ripped out (like all things with thorns... I loathe things with thorns). I'd also like to paint the exterior of the house, but I think that's on the back burner for now.

Well, happy times! I'm ready to soak up as much Vitamin D as I can to get through next winter. ^_^

I am excited for your projects. It feels good to get dirty and make old things beautiful again. Your garage isn't even attached to your house, so why do they care? do they think it will fall in on you and crush you or your car? weird.
