It’s that time of year when Stephen’s siblings start making the trek to Minnesota for their vacations. It turns grandma and grandpa’s house into quite the zoo and there is always something going on. On Tuesday, Summer got into town with her 6 kids, and we went over to see her.
The day started a bit slow… and I have a hard enough time getting around to ‘doing’ Sammi’s hair. It’s completely uncontrollable. rat’s nest galore for her.
Samantha didn’t really understand that she’d be meeting a cousin. Summer has a little girl (Naomi) just 6 weeks younger than Sammi, but as can be seen by last year… they had quite the height difference. It took us a bit of time but finally we got them in the same room and told them each others names. Naomi’s first words were “Do you want a princess?” then handed Samantha a princess doll she had and they are now the best of friends. Samantha calls her “nami” as in “amy” with an “n”.
There’s still the height difference. They’re both standing next to the couch in this next picture.
The other cousins that got to meet were the new babies. Charlotte (Heidi’s baby) and Susannah (Summer’s) are 2 months apart but about the same size and both crawling and they became fast friends.
Clara has a bit of catching up to do… but beats both of them in hair.
Another reason we headed to packed crazy-town of the Smith home was because of the blessing of Charlotte. It was very sweet and I’m glad we could be there for it.
