Stephen has entered his last year of his 20’s. For some reason he’s a bit hankered over the “turning 30” next year, but Stephen will forever be a child.
To celebrate we had Stephen’s sister’s family, The Elwoods, come over for dinner, cake and a game of Cranium (which the girls totally dominated). As our table only seats 6, we pulled out Samantha’s little table for the kids to sit at. Eliza (13, and quite tall) was a trooper sitting in a tiny chair at the tiny table.
Just a silly picture of Samantha. One of her “vacant stare” looks.
Stephen had a chocolate cake with chocolate icing made from scratch. It’s pretty much the only kind of cake I think deserves to be around. I did add a hint of peppermint flavoring to the frosting which was very yummy delicious and Samantha wanted sprinkles on it, so I let her put those on top. Stephen carried his cake in once he lit the candle in a “Russian dancer” sort of way. Quite silly, but very him.
It was a good evening and it was fun to spend some time with the Elwoods in a not so crazy environment as when all the cousins are together.
