This past week I participated in A Frock By Friday, with the help of blogger Kathleen I was able to follow the shirt dress pattern on Bernina’s website. I decided on a solid yellow with a tiny polka dot for contrast on the trim pieces. A couple changes I made were the sleeves (from a McCalls pattern I had picked up at a $1.99 sale) and I lengthened the dress by about 3-4 inches and put trim on the bottom instead of an elastic hem. Unfortunately the material was a bit more see-through than I had expected and so I added some lining material I had on hand. I need to learn about fabrics, weights and what material is good for what. But all in all (and a bunch of mess ups along the way) I think it turned out well.

Your dress is ADORABLE... and I enjoyed reading your previous posts, you keep up well, especially having 2 little ones... I can't keep up with just my one! Yay for blogs!
