Celebration of the fourth…

July 4th being on a Sunday this year greatly affected our typical celebrations.  And while I don’t think it would be breaking the Sabbath to celebrate the 4th, things just didn’t line up this year.  Typically we go to the parade in Delano, MN but it was right in the middle of our church hours; we also typically do a singing concert called “United We Sing” but that had been cancelled.  I didn’t even get around to making some cute patriotic shirts for my girls.  So our celebration was limited to Music in Plymouth for real fireworks and then on the 5th we blew up some of our own.

The afternoon was taken up by my nephew’s baptism.  He was baptized in the Mississippi River.  It was quite beautiful and serene and I’m sure Willard will always remember it (or at least the date).
