One of the things my mom wanted to do on her vacation was to try mountain biking. As Stephen and I were bringing out a few bikes and Stephen’s brother Scott was in Park City at the same time, we had a few bikes and equipment to make that happen. I figured that since my mother was going to try something new, I better not be out done. On Thursday Stephen made sure we could all ride a bike, shift gears, and most importantly… stop. Friday morning we headed out on a trail called Glenwilde. I didn’t feel too bad, although riding a bike at 9000 ft in altitude is quite the task, my mom and I were sucking wind. We only did a couple miles total, but don’t I look awesome? Maybe one day I’ll try again… maybe.
Since it was my first time in Park City, we wanted to do something that you only do in Park City. So we decided to go to Olympic Park and ride the zipline. It was a lot of fun, and not nearly as scary as I thought it was going to be.
While Stephen and I were gone having some fun without the kiddos, my siblings took Sammi swimming at the condo’s pool.
Friday afternoon my grandparents (Sammi and Clara’s Great Grandma and Grandpa Cox) came down to see us. It was great seeing them and letting them meet Clara. Two of my dad’s sisters and their families came down as well for a BBQ and to play Danish Ball (another thing on my mom’s vacation To-Do list). Danish Ball (which apparently is a real sport according to my mom but that I always thought was made up ) is played with a wiffle ball and bat. There are two “safe zones” (home and base). There is only one out, but you can’t strike out. And once your team gets the other team out, it instantaneously switches so that you can then be tagged out. It’s actually much less complicated than it sounds and people of all ages can play. My Aunt Ginger hit the ball and almost got it stuck in a gondola (ski-lift thingy), Destin broke the ball, and someone almost got it stuck in a tree. We all had a bunch of fun, although we forgot to take pictures.

Playing “got your nose” (which actually turned into “got your [any body part]”.
“Wake up Danny!”

Saturday morning was pack up and leave day. I forget when we finally got going, but we made decent time and had relatively few mishaps. It did take us and hour and half to get past Laramie, WY thanks to the “getting America back to work”. Hooray for 3 lanes down to 1 for no apparent reason! But this was probably the most hilarious thing we saw along our drive.

I am so proud of you for biking! I have been biking with my kids part way to school and I admit, they are way better than me. I really feel it in my legs and need to start adding to my distance. I am pulling a trailer with two kids inside, so extra workout.
