A couple of Smith burritos.

While putting away everything from family staying, Stephen rolled up the girls into little burritos.  They thought it was great fun.

The day my parents left Samantha had her 2nd Dentist appointment.  She did such a good job, parents were trying to ply there 5 year olds into compliance “Look at how well that little girl is sitting there, and she’s younger than you!”  She had no cavities for a second time and loved getting a new toothbrush.  That afternoon we put together some shelves that my dad actually bought us when Clara was born.  It’s great to have them up and all of our food storage all organized!

The next Tuesday, Stephen left for a business trip to Brazil.  He was gone for nearly 2 weeks.  It was hard.  For whatever reason Clara decided that her crib was nightmarish and would only go into it after being rocked until she was limp (but not all the way asleep) and it was around 9pm.  Then 6:30 seemed like a good wake-up time (Usually they don’t get up until nearly 8).  I also volunteered to watch a friend’s 8 month old baby for 2 days while her and her husband got some non-kid time after he finished his degree. 

Here are some pictures of one of our afternoons.  We inherited the little tikes car from my in-laws.  It’s Clara’s favorite toy of all time.  If the door is open she is out the door and sitting in this car.
