A visit from the Delawareans Part 1

My parents and brother came out for a visit this month.  We wanted to show them a good time and show that there really is a GOOD reason why people live in Minnesota.  They’ve been here in every season but the summer, and truly summer is amazing.  Minnesotans know that winter is always around the corner and we take full advantage of our short summer.  Shorts and sandals come out of storage once it’s above freezing.  But I have loved it as it’s been in the 80s, where every day you can go to the pool or a lake.  The week they were here was actually the coolest it had been for a long while (high 70s).  But we made the best of it, and had a good time.

They got here Saturday afternoon, and after picking Samantha up from a birthday party we decided to head to a lake and bring dinner with us.  So we grilled some hamburgers and hotdogs, and Stephen went swimming with Sammi.

The weather was beautiful on Sunday as well, so we went for a walk to the elementary school around the block (literally).  Samantha calls it the “big kids school” and enjoys playing on the playground there.  Grandma, Grandpa and Dalton all got into it.

Monday consisted of planning (food, activities, and the basement laundry room my dad offered to work on).  But Tuesday we went down to the Mall of America because Dora was visiting!  We also stopped by some shops (namely H&M: I got Samantha some cute dresses and my mom picked out some cute maternity clothes for my sister, Caitlyn)
