Every Tuesday the Mall of America has “Toddler Tuesday” where they have some event/performance/activity for little kids. This last Tuesday they had the Butterfly Exhibit in Nickelodeon Universe open for free! (Nickelodeon Universe = amusement park inside the mall, used to be called Snoopy Land and other various names) Samantha liked the butterflies at the zoo last summer so I thought we’d head down. I invited a couple other moms in the ward and we made an outing of it.
Samantha enjoyed pointing out the butterflies, but didn’t like when one landed on her sleeve. There was also one that wouldn’t stop landing on me, it really like me or at least the color of my shirt.
A butterfly to prove there was one
The favorite part for all of the toddlers (3 total) was after lunch when we were walking back to our car. None of us brought a stroller, and so the walk back was more a chase back or herding. We were also on the 3rd and then 2nd floor so their weren’t many people around. Randomly Samantha would drop to her hands and knees and either pretend she was hurt (even though she purposely went to her knees) or be a rabbit. If I tried to get her to stand up she’d be a limp noodle. I think I definitely got my quota of lifting a 30 lb dead weight that day.
