ballet

I noticed that our city does a ballet class for 3-4 year olds and thought it’d be cute for Samantha.  (Every day she wants to wear a “dancy dress”).  Plus, I wanted her to do something as Stephen started school and I’d be home through bedtime alone.  At least she should go to bed easy on dance class days.  The first day of class these are pretty much the best pictures I got.  She was very excited and just running all over the place.  She did pretty well, and despite being one of the youngest did decently well following along.

The second week, I brought my camera inside.  The first picture is of her waiting for class to start, the second she’s getting into 3rd position.  Her teacher calls it “pickle in the middle”.  She can actually go to all the positions by herself now.  Her favorite is going to 2nd as they jump to make a “tunnel” with their legs.

She’s starting to understand the follow along thing.  It’s hardest for her when the teacher stops talking.  But when she is talking I can see Sammi realizing what step is next.  We just have to work on her staying in her spot and not running to mommy saying “I did it! I did it all by myself!”
