Samantha’s cousin, Kellen, who is about a month older than her turned 3 in August. We had a fun time at his party, even though it was cut short by some church responsibilities. (Thanks Heidi for being so willing to move times around!) The kids played well together outside. It was a beautiful day, a break from a heat wave we were having.
Charlotte (10 months) and Clara (5 1/2 months) playing with balloons. Charlotte seemed to like having her foot propped in the air.
The birthday boy, very excited for presents
Samantha was very excited to give Kellen and orange shirt. I’ve been wanting to try Freezer Paper as a a sort of stencil/screen print on a shirt. So I put a scene from Sleeping Beauty on his shirt. It’s when Prince Philip is fighting Maleficent as a dragon. What boy doesn’t like swords and dragons? Samantha modeled it for me before we wrapped it up for Kellen.
I think his favorite gift was his sword (two pieces of wood screwed together) that his cousin, Preston, made for him.
One day I decided to see if I could put Clara’s hair in pigtails. I couldn’t do this to Sammi until she was nearly 18 months old.
Sammi is always the helpful one, especially during photos of her sister.
“Clara’s in front of my back”
But she’s a great big sister.
Some friends of ours are letting us borrow a bike for Sammi. Stephen took her out one day to help teach her how to pedal. She’s getting better with the pedals. And as we don’t have a helmet for her yet, she’s wearing my helmet. She’s actually very adamant about wearing a helmet, and points out to me if she see’s anyone not wearing a helmet while riding a bike. “He doesn’t have a helmet on. He needs to go home and get it.”
