So everything that is absolutely necessary for the baby is all done and ready. Today I finished recovering the infant car seat so that the little one can come home from the hospital.
Of course, I still need to do the canopy. But it has to be found first and isn’t necessary to bring a baby home. I must say I’m proud of myself for this one. I’ve never sewn something completely on my own. I made curtains and clothing in high school but I always had my mom (or the sewing teacher) there for help. This is the first time I’ve ever done button (strap) holes, used bias tape, or done a zigzag stitch (no serger). I also learned how to change the needle in my sewing machine since apparently you can’t use the same needle for heavy duty thread as regular thread. It’s by no means perfect but it’ll work and it’s cute.
I also made Stephen set up the crib in Samantha’s the girls’ room (they’ll be sharing). So that’s all set up with sheets looking cute. Just need a baby to put in it.
Next project: pillows and shade for the girls’ bedroom.
