We were recently in Delaware for my sister Maraina’s wedding. I went out on the 12th of April (the wedding happened on the 23rd) to help with the preparations and to make sure the girls were transitioned. The plane ride out went well. The girls are getting to be champ travelers. We got to our gate early and so Clara got to get out of the stroller and look out the window and walk around. I had packed Samantha’s backpack a couple days before with new “airplane toys”. This trip she got a Rapunzel barbie doll. Her very first barbie doll. I let her open her backpack when we got to the gate and she was overjoyed for her “Hapunzel toy!” She played with her the entire hour at the gate and 2.5 hour plane ride. Clara’s a busy girl and I haven’t quite figured out anything to occupy her attention except for food. So Clara sat on my lap eating cheerios, cheesestick, peas, goldfish, and a little bit of candy the entire 2 hours.
At my parents house the girls took off to re-orienting themselves to Grandma’s house. They both mostly remembered it since we had just been there 2 months prior. It was new terrain for Clara, however, since now she could walk. The last trip Clara taught herself how to go UP stairs, but this time within 2 days she could masterfully go DOWN the stairs as well. And with 3 floors to go between (and 2 staircases between the first and second) she used the new skill well. Caitlyn, newly announced pregnant, also arrived on the 12th. She was in the throes of morning sickness and so mostly was MIA or just watching TV. (As a side note… Look at how blonde my little brunette baby is! Crazy!)
We had some very nice weather, and so we went down to the park to play. It’s great that Samantha can pretty much do everything on her own. She loves the park. Clara loves being outside as well but doesn’t really like swings. She did like a little foot swing, but I think that’s because it was her height. Caitlyn took her down the slide, which she loved!
Uncle Dalton had seminary, school and lacrosse the entire time we were in town. So he was gone from 6am to 8-10pm. He was pretty bummed that he didn’t get to see the girls until we’d been there for nearly 24 hours or so. But one night they were up way too late and they wrestled Dalton (ie: Climbed all over him).
