Anyway, my mom bought the girls some Easter dresses that they got to wear to church. All the family either left the night before or were leaving during church. Originally, the Wihongi’s (Danny’s family) were going to stay at our house after the reception and have Easter with us, but they opted to see more of the east coast with this sort of once in a lifetime chance to have so many of them out there. So they headed up to Philly. But since we were already prepared for dinner we had the faux family over for a very relaxed evening.
We also had planned an Easter Egg Hunt for the girls and Danny’s younger siblings. (Caitlyn and I had filled the plastic eggs the week before) so instead of letting Samantha and Clara collect 4 dozen eggs, we opened it up to the faux family “kids” (who are all over the age of 15 now). Dalton hadn’t had an easter egg hunt since we moved to the new house when he was 6. So the poor boy has been severely deprived. Samantha was EGG-static (haha) to have an easter egg hunt since she’s been reading “Happy Easter, Little Critter” for a month and he has an easter egg hunt in it. She tried to teach Clara what to do, but Clara figured out really fast that there was candy inside the egg and after she got one opened just plopped down and started eating.
Since the teenagers (and twenties) were going to be doing the hunt as well, a few were hidden quite well. I watched with great satisfaction as 3 or 4 of mine were walked past many a-times. I even had to point one out at the end because it wasn’t found. :)
